Lets name the vector V: (-2,7)

U which is the unit vector is

  [tex]u = \frac{V}{||V||} = \frac{(-2,7)}{\sqrt{(-2)^{2} +(7^2)} } } = \frac{1}{\sqrt{53} } (-2,7) = (\frac{-2}{\sqrt{51} } ,\frac{7}{\sqrt{51} } )[/tex]

Hope that helps!
