Use the distance formula:

Distance = √((X2 - x1)^2 + (Y2-y1)^2)

Distance = √((-4 -1)^2 + (-1-9)^2)

Distance = √(25+100)

Distance = √125

Distance = 5√5 ( Exact) or 11.1803 as a decimal.
