To simplify the equation 3(5 + 2x), the distributive factor must be used, so the number outside the bracket (3), must be distributed (or multiplied) with each of the terms inside the brackets (5 and 2x) and then simplify
3(5 + 2x)
3(5) + 3(2x)
15 + 6x
